BOARD OF DIRECTORS.
Miny Tafesse is a dedicated beauty industry leader, trichologist, and educator with over 25 years of experience transforming hair, scalps, and lives.

Originally from Kenya, Miny opened the first Abyssinia Beauty Clinic in Nairobi in 2000 — a trusted space where clients could receive quality hair and scalp care rooted in multicultural expertise. The original clinic still serves the community today, a testament to her enduring vision.

In 2013, Miny moved to the United States, determined to continue her mission of healthy hair and empowering others. She opened her first U.S. clinic in Renton, WA in 2015, and expanded to Kent in 2020, helping more clients with hair loss, thinning, and scalp disorders.

In 2024, she transformed the Renton clinic into Abyssinia Beauty School, a nonprofit vocational school helping people from low-income and underserved backgrounds gain real-world skills, confidence, and a pathway to stable employment — moving away from dependency and building a new future.

As a licensed trichologist, educator, and business owner, Miny shares her deep knowledge of multicultural hair textures, scalp treatments, and professional design. Her mission remains true: Where Beauty Meets Purpose.
Whether she’s behind the chair, training new students, or supporting her community, Miny’s vision is simple — everyone deserves healthy hair, self-confidence, and a second chance to thrive.
